At the half way point of this season with number of games that people take no interest in with the business end of the season coming up, we decided to do a quick prediction for a number of games that we expect teams to win and a in-depth look at some key games that people will keep a eye out on in week 8.

Arizona (1-5) @ Ravens (4-2): I expect the Ravens to come out on top in this game with them taking some anger out on the Cardinals after their woeful performance against the Jaguars, expect Rice to be involved heavily after Suggs criticism of the offensive game plan. Final Score 24-7 Ravens.

Jaguars (2-5) @ Texans (4-3): Adrian Foster was the star of the show against the Titans putting up huge numbers and the defense stepped up in a big way, while the Jaguars shook everyone will a defensive performance that would make the Ravens proud after dominated them on defense on MNF. Expect a lot of Foster and Jones-Drew from both teams. Final Score 21-13 Texans.

Dolphins (0-7) @ Giants (4-2): Expect the Giants to win this game handsomely after Miami blew a lead of 15-0 at home against the Broncos, Miami must hold onto the ball number of drops during the game as cost them number of occasions. Final Score 31-10 Giants.

Colts (0-7) @ Titans (3-3): Colts got blown on SNF 62-7 against the Saints after their defense that collapsed and had no answer for the Saints offense; I expect a better game from the Colts this week. Titans haven’t performed great themselves after getting blown out themselves against the Texans with them running all over them with the Colts-not having a great back i expect the Titans to come out on top. Final Score 24-10 Titans.

Bengals (4-2) @ Seahawks (2-4): Seahawks don’t know who their QB is on Sunday which is never a good thing especially going against a good defense with the Bengals standing 4-2 this season with their defense play exceptional and AJ Green Andy Dalton connection being a success. Final Score 21-2 Bengals.

Browns (3-3) @ 49ers (5-1): 49ers will continue their good form and come out on top at home, Browns with no run game for the Browns it will be difficult for McCoy to throw 40+ times against the 49ers defense who have been superb so far under Harbaugh. Final Score 27-13 49ers.

Vikings (1-7) @ Panther (2-5)

Preview: Vikings are coming off a loss to the Packers to lose their third divisional game of the season, all but ends their chance of winning the division or making the playoffs this season capping off a disappointing first half of the season as they expected to push for a playoff spot. Panthers are coming off a good win at home against the Redskins with Newton being the star again with another rushing TD bringing his total to 9 this season and Steve Smith continues his resurgence with 143 yards receiving game after 7 games he brings his total to 818 yards. One thing the Vikings took out of Sunday’s game was the performance of Ponder who did an excellent job with a couple of mistakes which are expected.

Who to watch out for:

Visanthe Shiancoe: Expect him to get the more ball in the offense with Ponder under centre as he looks for a safety blanket in the offense, Shiancoe was full of praise of Ponder during the NFL.com Sounds, Ponder will look for Shiancoe more underneath and middle of the field more than down the field.

Cam Newton: He going against the one of the best run defenses in the league, how will he able to cope going against a team who can stop the run as the Panthers like to use the option with Newton in a empty back field and will the Vikings have a LB or defensive lineman in the spy role to try and stop him gaining big yards.

Prediction: Panthers will have to try and stop the run if they can but trying to stop AP going to be a nightmare to force Ponder to throw 35-40 times, one of the reasons he was successful on Sunday was because AP ran for 178 yards taking pressure off the rookie QB. Vikings will be watching out for the option play with Newton in command with the size and speed of Newton it will be hard for a DB or LB even to bring him down in the open. The Vikings must be able to bring him down straight away also the Panthers must be concerned with Allen as he comes into the game with 11.5 Sacks. Final Score 28-21 Vikings.

Lions (5-2) @ (2-5) Broncos

Preview: Broncos are coming off a dramatic victory of the Dolphins in overtime coming from 15-0 to win 18-15 in OT with a Prater FG with Tebow bringing the offense to life in the final quarter after three subdued quarters of football. Lions lose their second game in a row after a loss to the Falcons at home with Turner having a big game after the previous week when Frank Gore ran all over them with the wide 9 D-Line getting burnt by back to back running backs.

Who to watch out for:

Ndamukong Suh: How will the Broncos handle Suh? But more importantly will he be able to control his temper after couple of Falcon offensive lineman suggested that Suh was taunting Matt Ryan after he got hurt during the game, the referee will keep a close eye on Suh and he may get flagged on decisions that usually don’t be called.

Tim Tebow: At times he looked poor and couldn’t get anything going, was sacked 6 times during the game trying to pick up the extra yardages with the secondary covering up all the receivers making Tebow use his feet or force the throws but on the final couple of drives the playbook opened and looked much more effective getting his team back into the game.

Shaun Hill: Stepped in last season when Stafford went down to injury, he did a decent job for the Detroit and may have to step in again after number of hits Stafford took last week against the Falcons and has not been practicing to get him game time but Hill may start for them.

Prediction: Lions will be going into a hostile crowd in the mile high stadium with Tebow the starter for the Broncos. I expect the Lions to win this game comfortably with the offense is much better shape than the Broncos as well as defensively but Broncos have some players who can make some players especially their cornerbacks and Von Miller who has been lights out as a rookie. Final Score 21-3 Lions.

Cowboys (3-3) @ Eagles (2-4)

Preview: Dallas coming off a blowout victory over the Rams who have had poor this season but the manner on how they won the game was the key with Murray breaking single game rushing yards by a Dallas player set by Emmet Smith. Murray rushed for 258 yards with Jones out Murray got his opportunity and ran all over the Rams. Eagles are coming off a bye week as they try and regroup as a team after a 2-4 start to the season as many experts thought they were one of the contenders for the Superbowl. Huge divisional game which could have huge implications come end of the season.

DeMarco Murray: Every running back this season has run all over the Eagles expect Dallas to have a similar game plan on SNF with Murray rushing over 250 yards against the Rams with Felix Jones out again with an injury Murray should become the no.1 back for Dallas for the remainder of the season. Dallas will use play action pass will be used on heavily on Sunday with Romo still not fully recovered from his bruised ribs.

Michael Vick: Take care of the football and protect yourself that’s what Andy Reid will be saying to Vick before Sunday’s game. If Eagles are to win this game it comes on the shoulders of the Michael Vick with the number of INT this season as well as the mistakes he has done this season compared to last season.

Prediction: This game is a tossup between two teams at times are quite unpredictable and you never know what you going to get especially from their quarterbacks who both have been hurt this season. Eagles have to keep Vick protected he has had a beating this season, another hit and he could be out for the season, Vick must not force throws with the number INT he has already this season. Dallas will continue the formula of run the ball with Murray with Eagles having trouble stopping the run this season as they use the similar wide 9 technique with teams able to run the ball. Final Score 31-28 Cowboys.

Chiefs (3-3) @ Chargers (4-2)

Preview: Chiefs have come into some rich form of late with 3 wins in a row after a poor start to the season with them expected to finish the bottom of the division with the Broncos but have turned it around and could go top of the division with a win. Chargers coming off a disappointing loss to the Jets after leading 21-10 at HT then blew in the 2nd half with Rivers throwing multiple of INT again, with this being a divisional game it will be important for the standing as either team could go top with a win.

Philip Rivers: Has a had a poor season so far, not to the standards he usually expects from himself after throwing another multiple INT game, it is important he takes care of the ball and gets rid of the ball if he doesn’t see the open receiver instead of forcing stuff, costing his team victories.

Jackie Battle: Charles went on IR, Chiefs have rotated their RB with Jones, McCluster but Battle featured a lot in the game against the Raider, he looked decent expect him to be used more this game more of the carries than Jones, if he is able to get getting it will bowl well for the Chiefs and Cassel.

Prediction: Chargers must not lose this game themselves with number of flags against the Jets, River throwing INT and getting teams back into the game, if the defense can get going early it will force Cassel to get frustrated forcing the throws and getting the turnovers. Cassel, Bowe must get the connection going early as it will help them later on in the game when he needs to go him more. Chiefs secondary had a exceptional game against the Raiders with 6 INT returning two for a TD so Rivers and his receivers must be on sync otherwise Chiefs secondary will be ready to return the ball to the house. Final Score 21-17 Chiefs.
